The honeymoon for a Las Vegas couple came to an abrupt end when police arrested the groom for trying to run over his new wife. Katie Martindale and James Olwine got married on March 4th in Las Vegas and were still honeymooning when Olwine ran over his bride.
According to Lt. Paul Jaroscak, a spokesman for the Salt Lake County sheriff's office, he received an emergency call Monday from someone reporting a couple fighting in a car as they traveled on Highland Drive, about 10 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
Martindale, 29, is said to have gotten out of the car to walk away when Olwine, 33, drove off the road and hit her with the car, pushing her into a snow bank. Though she was not seriously injured but police suspect she might have a broken leg.
Police booked Olwine into the county jail on charges of aggravated assault with a vehicle. The couple is said to have jail records.
