A 29-year-old man, suspected to be on drugs, was arrested in the northern Philippines on Tuesday after he reportedly killed a 14-year-old girl and ate her heart and liver.

Reports reaching the capital indicate Rommel Jandoc was allegedly high on prohibited drugs and killed Catherine Madriaga. Both the suspect and his victim are from the Pugo, a small village in Bauang, La Union, northern Philippines.

Police quoted witnesses, who said several of Madriaga's associates alerted elders when they were screaming that someone in the neighborhood had been stabbed.

Relatives, who rushed to the area, saw Jandoc's sitting near the body with bloodied hands, where he was eating Madriaga's heart and liver.

The suspect reportedly stabbed his victim and then crushed the girl's chest to remove the organs.

The neighbors immediately called the police, who came and arrested Jandoc.
