A 10-year-old boy is found dead, hanging from a tree after authorities believe he choked himself trying to get high while playing a bizarre "pass out" game.
Dalton Eby is the second Idaho child killed in recent months as part of a game where an attempt is made to cut off the oxygen supply to the brain in order to achieve a high.
When he failed to return home last Thursday after visiting a friend, Eby's mother reported him missing. The Fremont County search crews found his body Friday in a tree near his home. They found no evidence to indicate anyone else had been involved.
The victim's parents had never heard of the game.
In April, a 13-year-old Idaho girl was found dead after hanging herself from her closet. An investigation proved inconclusive, but the girl's family believes she died playing the game, which was popular among her friends.
Six girls were later suspended at Dunn's school after a security camera caught them choking each other.
Child psychologist Dr. Lawrence Shapiro says the game is new to adults, but has probably been practiced by kids for some time.
Shapiro says parents should not only address the issues of drugs and sex with their kids, but also risky behavior like the "pass out" game, which many kids do not know can do them serious harm.
