Canadian Mafias Go Green, Traffick e-Waste, Rare Wildlife

Organized criminals in Canada are resorting to illegal trading of electronic waste and rare wildlife, according to a report released Friday by the Criminal Intelligence Service Canada (CISC). The report, a survey of organized crime in the country based on police reports, said crime syndicates are collecting e-waste in developed countries and selling it to recyclers in developing countries. The syndicates developed the black markets for computers, televisions and cellphones.

Man Faces Charges For Calling 911 For Condoms Refund

A New Jersey man is facing hot water after police charged him with making a false report after he dialed 911 to detail an alleged robbery when a gas station clerk refused to refund his money for an unopened box of condoms. Officers were dispatched Sunday and found an employee of the gas station who exactly fit the description of the supposed robber given to them by the caller.

Elderly "Victim" Forces Teen Burglar To Call Police

A 17-year-old suspected robber learned some manners and to respect the elderly when his 85-year-old victim forced him, at gunpoint, to call the police and admit his wrongdoings. Leda Smith from Springhill Township, about 45 miles south of Pittsburgh, courageously walked past a 17-year-old burglar who forced his way inside her house Sunday afternoon. Smith entered her bedroom and grabbed a . 22 caliber gun she kept under her bed.

Reality TV's 'Bounty Hunters' Bail Out Mother Of Missing Orlando Toddler

The mother of a missing Orlando toddler is likely to be released from jail Sunday when a California bounty hunter and his nephew, a bail bondsman, post the $500,000 bond. Leonard Padilla and his nephew, Tony Padilla are on National Geographic's reality series, "Bounty Hunters," and they told reporters they think they can help find the missing child by spending time with the mother, Casey Anthony, and getting her to tell them more than she has told police.

New Yorkers Lift Bus Off Dying Pregnant Woman, Her Baby Lives

Several New York City residents pitched in Thursday to lift a five-ton bus off a dying pregnant woman, saving her unborn baby in the process. New York City Police Department traffic agent Donnette Sanz, 33, was crossing a Bronx street when a van struck her, knocking her into the path of a 10,000-pound school bus. She was run over and pinned under the bus.
