New Yorker Sets Two World Records On A Single Day

New Yorker Ashrita Furman, the man who holds more world records than anyone in history, captured two new Guinness World Records by bouncing his way across the bottom of a pool on a pogo stick. Traveling 1,680 feet, Furman set the first Guinness World Record in an underwater pogo stick category. However after a short break, Furman broke his own record for underwater hula hoping with 2 minutes, 38 seconds.

A Victorian-era sea fort is up for sale in Britain at a cost of $8 million. The fort, located 1 mile off the coast of Portsmouth, was originally built to house 80 sailors as a defense against the French navy. Recently it served as a luxury hotel, but its owner has been forced to sell it due to financial troubles. No Man's Land Fort, as it is known, was built between 1861 and 1880. The fort is constructed largely of granite and is 200 feet long and rises 60 feet from the sea. The fort features 21 themed rooms, two helipads and a heated indoor pool.

Estonia Sweeps World Wife-Carrying Contest

Estonia has won both gold and silver at the 12th annual world wife-carrying championships in Finland. Participants braved rain, hurdles and exhaustion to stumble along a 250-metre path with women clinging upside-down to their backs. There were 44 couples from 12 countries competing in the annual event in Sonkajarvi, reports Sky News. The idea for the race came from a Finnish legend, Rosvo-Ronkainen, who made people run through a forest carrying heavy sacks on their backs.

Spaniards Smash Hotel Room For Stress Relief

A group of 30 Spaniards selected by psychologists for their unusually high levels of stress and anxiety were allowed to run wild throughout a Spanish hotel, smashing whatever they wanted to with sledgehammers and pickaxes. Among the lucky winners who were selected from a pool of 200 applicants were a corporate executive, a soon-to-be-married couple and a single mother.

Teenagers Hang Out In The Same Hotel They Robbed 15 Hours Earlier

Police has arrested two teenagers who were found to be loitering around the swimming pool of the same hotel that they had robbed about 15 hours ago. Brandon J. Brooks, 18, and Dillion Clark, 16, held a man and a woman at a gunpoint around 2 a. m. Saturday on the beach by Shorewood Villas on Hilton Head Island. The teenage robbers took the victims' cell phones, purses, wallets and cash.
