A vehicle made especially for the late Pope John Paul II for a visit to Scotland, will go up for auction.
One lucky bidder will win "the Popemobile" used by the Pope during his 1982 visit to Edinburgh.
According to the Scotsman, the 24-ton vehicle, which the Pope traveled in during his only official visit to Scotland, will be sold at a special auction of items from the Albion Museum in Dumfries, September 2. The unique car, which is expected to be sold for Ł20,000, is a six-wheeled Range Rover and truck hybrid that was specially designed so that the Pope could be seen by the crowds in complete security.
When the Pope made his trip, two cars were made. One for his stops in Scotland, and one for his trip to England.
