A Portuguese man who has no family, left his fortune to 70 individuals he randomly selected from a public phone book.
The man, identified as Luis da Camara wrote his will at the age of 29 and chose his "heir" by selecting names he randomly picked out from the Lisbon telephone directory.
According to a report by the Mirror newspaper, Da Camara had no family and decided to leave his money and property to total strangers.
The man died earlier this month, and the age of 42 and leaving behind two houses, a car and over $32,000 in cash.
The Mirror said the 70 strangers will get an estimated $11,000 each.
Helena Suares, 76, who was one of the beneficiaries, said she could not at first believe her luck.
She told the Mirror,"At first I thought it was a hoax, but I need the money and I am very grateful to him."
