Contradicting his earlier remarks in 2003, President George W Bush has recently admitted to reading newspapers. In 2003, the president declared that he did not read newspapers and just "glanced" at them.

According to New York Times, the President has however casually admitted last week that he had seen something in the paper that very day.

When the President was asked to comment on his reaction to word that Vice President Cheney would be called to testify in the C.I.A. leak case, the president allowed, "I read it in the newspaper today, and it's an interesting piece of news."

This was in contrast with his 2003 remarks, when Bush told Brit Hume on Fox News that he glanced at the headlines, but "I rarely read the stories," because, he said, they mix opinion with fact.

The President had however admitted to getting his news from "objective sources" that includes "people on my staff who tell me what's happening in the world."
