A statue commemorating the life of Britain's late Queen Mother has been unveiled. The statue, which was revealed Thursday, shows her looking towards Buckingham Palace standing alongside the statue of her husband, the late King George VI. The statue will be mounted on a stone plinth off London's Mall and it'll be accompanied by panels showing scenes from the life of the Queen Mother and King George.

The prince's Blues and Royals colleagues purchased 12 ginger wigs as a joke, and Harry, 22, is said to have found the prank hilarious. According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, redheaded Harry was genuinely touched by the humorous show of support, after questions were raised about the safety-implications surrounding his deployment in the war-torn country.

British Royal Officials Tried To Block Sales Of Handkerchiefs Bearing Queen's Wedding Photo

Royal courtiers wanted to block the sale of "tasteless" memorabilia when Britain's Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip in 1947. Papers released Tuesday by the National Archives at Kew, west London, revealed that members of Britain's Royal Court took their concerns over the wedding souvenirs to the Home Office. The courtiers were particularly annoyed about the "undesirable" handkerchiefs, produced by the Cheadle Fabric Factory.

Australian Craftsman Builds $1.23 Mln Carriage As Gift To Britain's Queen

Britain's Queen Elizabeth is to receive a new royal carriage as a gift from an Australian monarchist. Jim Frecklington, who lives in Sydney, has spent years and re-mortgaged his home to build the new State Coach Britannia. The carriage - which cost an estimated $1. 23 million to build with some of the costs being covered by the Australian government - will be flown into Britain and given as a gift to the queen.
