According to a police official, two Lenawee county jail guards have been fired for allegedly giving a slice of cherry pie to an inmate after asking him to strip down and run through the complex in the buff as a dare.

According to an announcement by Sheriff Larry Richardson, reported in the Daily Telegram, officials in charge of the jail "took decisive action" following the indecent incident.

According to an internal investigation launched after Richardson received a letter from an inmate detailing the events, the inmate looked with envy upon the delicious cherry pie being eaten by two jail officers and asked for a slice. Allegedly, the two guards asked the inmate how much he really wanted a piece of pie and what he would be willing to do in exchange.

The inmate, far from self-conscious of his physic, said he would gladly strip down and streak through the jail halls as other inmates looked on. The dare was accepted and the inmate was allowed to leave his cell to streak.

The officers said the ordeal was a simple prank and union officials are calling for the two to be reinstated, saying that firing the two men is far too severe.
