Australia's Office of Transport Security is installing new generation scanning equipment in airports that could see through the private parts of passengers. The scanners are being pilot tested at the Melbourne Airport. Travelers will pass through scanners for a "virtual strip search" in the next six weeks. Sydney and Adelaide will start their tests next week.

As the world eagerly waits for the naming of the Nobel Peace prize winner on Friday, a lawyer who authored a book on the Nobel Peace Prize awards questioned the selection of some past winners. Included in his list of undeserving awardees, based on the criteria set by Alfred Nobel in his 1895 last will and testament, was 2007 Peace Prize winner former U. S. Vice President Al Gore and Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

The son of a Democratic Tennessee state representative was indicted on Wednesday for hacking into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's personal e-mail account, according to the Justice Department. David Kernell, son of state Rep. Mike Kernell, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Knoxville, "for intentionally accessing without authorization" Palin's Yahoo e-mail account on Sept. 16.

Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich is awaiting the delivery of a yacht he bought for $354 million- reportedly the world's largest private yacht capable of fending off pirates. The 500-foot Eclipse, about two-thirds the size of the German World War II battleship Bismarck, is equipped with a missile detector and radar equipment, and has bullet-proof windows and armor plating to protect the 41 year old Abramovich from pirates.

Britain's Queen Victoria's stocking have sold at auction for a staggering $16,000. The black and white silk stockings, which bear the royal crest, fetched 40 times their list price when they were bought by David Alcock. Alcock, a bidder from North Wales, bought the legwear for Nottingham's Ruddington Framework Knitters' Museum - in honor of his late father-in-law Jack Smirfitt, who was a curator at the museum.
