Self-funded program, CrisisShield, has begun construction to rebuild the Grenada area effected by Hurricane Ivan, 10 months ago.

Since Hurricane Ivan's ripped through Grenada, CrisisShield has been setting up the framework to begin building houses for those left homeless.

Construction began this week on the CrisisShield display house, the first to be built. The next four homes are being constructed by the Housing Authority of Grenada in a variety of locations.CrisisShield houses offer secure and comfortable shelter for the families who will live in them. The houses are designed and fabricated by G-90 Building Systems located in Antigua to withstand category four hurricanes. They are earthquake and termite resistant and taking only four weeks to build, they also offer a quick solution for those in need of shelter. In addition, other programs will provide donated houses, and another will give low-income families the option to buy a house at cost.
