A female police officer who was discovered last year to have been a prostitute for a short time has gotten off with a warning, according to New Zealand police authorities. The officer, who is not identified, is stationed in Auckland, the biggest city in New Zealand.

Sex workers in Vegas are advocating respect for their profession in Sin City. Prostitutes demonstrated on the steps of the courthouse in downtown Las Vegas. Hookers and strippers demanded more legal protection in an effort to decriminalize the "world's oldest profession. " Thirty-six-year-old ex-Army Reservist, Starchild, stood in solidarity with the rallying sex workers in Las Vegas. He emphatically claimed his seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

Strippers and prostitutes are demonstrating for more legal protection and the decriminalization of prostitution. The protest is being held in downtown Las Vegas on the steps of the city's courthouse. Sex industry workers say all too often, workers claims of rape and violence are ignored by authorities and that anti-human trafficking laws are sometimes unfairly used against sex industry workers.

An 80-year-old man on Wednesday admitted possessing drugs and trading them for sex. The man admitted that he sold crack cocaine from his house and gave some of the drugs to prostitutes in exchange for sex. In front of a jury, Felix Cocco, of Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As part of a project to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in India, prostitutes who are routinely checked at a sexual health clinic are being awarded with discount shopping cards. The United Nation's AIDS-prevention agency recently said India has the highest number of people infected with HIV worldwide, with approximately 5. 7 million people living with the virus.
