An unusual program in Germany is teaching practioners of the "world's oldest profession" a new skill. Prostitutes are getting the chance to enrolling in a nursing program. The initiative funded by the a religious group and the European Union is aimed at addressing the nation's nursing shortage, while offering women an alternative to prostitution.

rostitutes in the Brazilian city of Salvador are going on the air with their own radio station. The Association of Prostitutes of Bahia state has won government permission for the project - it is scheduled to begin later this year. The station will not be used to generate business, but instead will feature programs about the trade and will discuss issues such as human rights, social questions, and sexual abuse.

FBI officials have arrested a man suspected of smuggling two Mexican migrants into the United States and selling them as part of a sex slave trade. Eliseo Escalante Santizo, 30, of Fort Myers, was taken into custody Monday at the Lee County Justice Center for a court hearing on unrelated charges of battery and resisting an officer with violence.

Law enforcement officials are telling property owners to put down pungent disinfectant because it acts as a detergent to people hanging around some buildings.

Motels in Houston that make it easy for prostitutes and their clients to conduct business will now be held accountable for illegal sexual transactions. Associated Press reports that the Houston City Council unanimously approves the new rule that prevents motels from knowingly issuing rooms for sex.
