A three-year-old bull terrier has survived swallowing a metal tent peg as long as his body.
Disa, the puppy, was rushed to the hospital after her owner suspected her of having an upset stomach. Veternerians discovered an eleven-inch steel peg inside Disa after taking x-rays of the pup.
Owner Peter Jones, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, in England said he had put Disa in the garden to play for a few minutes.
When she started showing signs of being sick, he rushed her to the local animal hospital.
Jones said: "I was so shocked when the vet rang to say they had discovered an eleven-inch tent peg in her abdomen.
"I cant even understand how she managed to swallow it, as she isn't much longer than the peg itself."
Disa has since made a full recovery.
