A Missouri woman angry at the death of her new puppy pushed her way into the dog breeder's home and repeatedly hit her on the head with the dead Chihuahua, authorities said. The 33-year-old woman told police that the puppy died when she was about to return it to the breeder after a veterinarian suggested her that the canine was too young and should be returned to its mother.

A resident of Coral Springs was walking his puppy and his older dog on Monday morning, when the puppy ran ahead. The owner of the dog heard the puppy yelp. He realized that an alligator had grabbed his puppy by the head at the edge of a pond nearby where they were walking. The man jumped into the water up to his neck and tried to fight the alligator off by beating it with his fists. Then he began to hold onto his dog while the alligator rolled in the water.

Authorities have indicted a Texas man on charges he threw a dog into an operating washing machine, resulting in injuries that killed the two year old pup. A grand jury has charged 32 year old Chad Edward Ellis of Euless, Texas, with animal cruelty.

Hwang Woo-suk unveiled 'Snuppy' last August. Time magazine referred to the dog as one of the most amazing inventions of 2005.

A three-year-old bull terrier has survived swallowing a metal tent peg as long as his body. Disa, the puppy, was rushed to the hospital after her owner suspected her of having an upset stomach. Veternerians discovered an eleven-inch steel peg inside Disa after taking x-rays of the pup.
