A man is arrested after animal control officers find his 5-month-old puppy buried alive. According to police, an anonymous tip led to the discovery that 25-year-old Shawn Longfellow dug a hole in the ground, and put the puppy in it with a piece of wooden fence, dirt, and a cinder block over the hole.

Peg, a four-month-old puppy born missing an ankle joint, or right paw, will always have "a little hitch in her giddy-up," says Rex Miller. Miller, who makes artificial limbs for humans, wants to use his skills to help Peg.

A Fort Lauderdale veterinarian had seen strange items in the stomachs of dogs before, but a 13-inch serrated knife that was swallowed by a 6-month old puppy was a new one.
