It came as a surprise and relief for a 59-year-old woman when the thief who stole her purse stood next to her in a book store. The victim went to a Hastings Books and Music on Tuesday to tell the store that someone had stolen her purse and used her credit card to buy $200 in DVDs.
While she was standing there, a man who stole her purse came up to the counter and tried to return eight DVDs in exchange for cash. However, when the manager came to handle both transactions, she linked both the cases and informed the victim that the culprit was in front of her.
Realising that his deed has been caught, the man rushed out of the store but was quickly nabbed by the police after some time. The 22-year-old, whose identity has not yet been revealed, admitted to police that he had stolen the purse and used the woman's credit card at the bookstore, a grocery store and a Wal-Mart.
AP reports that the man spent up to $716 from the woman's credit card.
