Elizabeth Hyde was only four years old when the Queen Mother visited her after being injured by a German bomb near her South London home in 1943.
During that eventful visit, Elizabeth was given a couple of bananas by no less than the Queen Mother herself, who was then still Princess Elizabeth.
Now 65 years later, it's the 69-year old Elizabeth's turn to repay the Queen.
Meeting the Queen by chance at a hospital in King's Lynn, Norfolk, where she now lives, Elizabeth returned the favor by handing the Queen two bananas.
"It was lovely to be able to thank her properly at last," Hyde, a retired scientist said.
