A German letter carrier stored almost 2,000 letters she was supposed to deliver in her apartment because she felt too physically overwhelmed by her job, police said Friday. In the span of six months, the 26-year-old-woman, who worked for a private mailing company, had hoarded 1,900 letters in her apartment in the southern town of Erlangen.

Hunters in the Bavarian Alps shot dead a brown bear, nicknamed Bruno, after spending weeks trying to find it. German authorities had previously declared the bear could be shot dead as it posed a danger to humans.

A Danish prince has incensed animal rights activists by saying he loves dogs - delicately sliced and lightly fried. Prince Henrik of Denmark reportedly told a magazine: "Dog meat tastes like rabbit. Like dried baby goat. Or perhaps - I know! - like veal. Like the veal of a baby suckling calf, only drier. "
