Franklin County's Common Pleas Court Judge Charles A. Schneider ordered the release of McClendon, 52, of Columbus after new DNA tests showed that semen in the underwear of the then 10-year-old rape victim was not his.

Eleven-Year-Old Romanian Rape Victim To Have Abortion In UK

An 11-year-old Romanian girl who was raped by her uncle when she was 10 and is now 21 weeks pregnant will have an abortion in the United Kingdom. The family of the girl accepted an offer from a London-based Romanian woman to sponsor the abortion even though a government committee in Romania decided Thursday to allow the abortion in the country.

Inmate Dies After Waiting 18 Years For New Trial

An Alabama death row inmate has died in prison without getting the retrial he sought 18 years ago for his case. Shep Wilson Jr. , 50, of Talladega County, succumbed to liver failure due to hepatitis C on June 12 at the infirmary of the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer. He was buried by his family on Tuesday.

Boston Archdiocese Pays $880,000 A Year For Maintenance Of Closed Churches

Boston's faithful are helping fund maintenance costs of 14 closed churches that costs the archdiocese $880,000 in maintenance bill every year. The bill includes heat, insurance and maintenance costs. Five of the 14 churches are occupied by parishioners who did not accept the closure order. Archdiocese chancellor James McDonough said the church wants to sell the closed properties but some are involved in lawsuits and canon law appeals. Others are just empty shells no longer used for Catholic rites.

Robber's Yells Activate Bluetooth Device

The screams of a man attempting to rob a fast food restaurant switched on a phone's Bluetooth device, transmitting the sounds of the robbery to the person on the other line. Ironically, the screams were of the robber ordering people in the store not to answer their phones. While waiting for the timer-activated safe to open at a Wendy's Wednesday morning, Keith Allen Sturgill was holding people at gunpoint, when an employee's phone started to ring. Sturgill started to scream, threatening to shoot anyone who answered his phone.
