Long Island's infamous Joey Buttafuoco is sentenced to a year in jail for possessing ammunition as a felon. He pleaded no contest after probation officers found the ammunition while searching his home in Chatsworth, California.

On Tuesday, Richard Thompson, 50, was sentenced to serve 10 years of probation instead of serving jail time for two counts of sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl. District Judge Kristine Cecava of Cheyenne County decided that Thompson, a 5-foot-1 man, was too short to be able to survive in prison. Although the judge admitted that the convict deserved a long sentence, she was concerned that his short stature would cause him to become a victim of danger within the prison.

High school kids will now be allowed to marry in Kansas after a new bill, which sets the minimum legal age for marriage at 15, receives final legislative approval. According to The Wichita Eagle, Gov. Kathleen Sibelius is expected to sign the bill.

A South African woman in her thirties escaped rape when she bit off her rapist's tongue, police officials said on Wednesday. The victim was walking in an empty street on Tuesday night when the accused person attacked on her. The victim woman bit off the accused persons tongue when he tried to kiss her and victim managed to escape rape, informed a police officer.
