No one saw this one coming. Joey Buttafuoco, who in the early 90's made headlines for sleeping with then 17-year-old Amy Fisher and sparking a national interest in the 'Long Island Lolita' case, is now working as an ice-cream man on the set of the hit show "Desperate Housewives" and "Crossing Jordan. "During the Long Island drama, which kept water coolers in offices across the nation buzzing with gossip, his then girlfriend Fisher shot his wife Mary Jo in the face, leaving her severely injured and partially paralyzed - an incident that provided the inspiration for no fewer than three made-for-TV movies.

Police in Davie, Florida say a rapist was captured after he forced his victim to write him a check, and then tried to cash it. Officers arrested Anthony R. Roberts minutes after the crime at a check-cashing store two miles from his victim's home. He had ordered the woman to make out a check to "Anthony Roberts" and write on the memo line that it was "for electrical work," according to a police report.

In the midst of a Toronto neighborhood rests a 13-1/2 foot bronze and granite monument depicting Alexander Wood, famous for both owning the land on which the community now sits, and for being run out of town due to sexual scandal in the early 1800s. The statue of a hero in Toronto's gay community is the cause of concern both for the actions of the man it depicts and for the somewhat graphic description of the 19th-Century sex scandal that made him famous.
