A suspect in the murder of a model in Los Angeles, California was found dead inside a motel in Hope, British Columbia.

The victim, 28-year old California swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore, was found on Aug. 15 severely mutilated with her fingers and teeth removed, which made it difficult for the police to establish her identity. The police, though, was able to identify her corpse through the serial number on her breast implant.

The suspect was her former husband, Ryan Jenkins, a former reality television contestant in Canada. Jenkins reported to L.A. police on Aug. 15 that Fiore went out to buy something and have her nails done, but she did not return home. Earlier that day, LA police found in Buena Park near LA the naked body of a woman stuffed inside a large suitcase.

Police filed mutilation and murder charges against Jenkins, who left LA to flee justice.

Adam Curt, a room boy of the Thunderbird Motel found Jenkins dead Sunday afternoon. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Federal Border Integrity Program confirmed it was Jenkin's body they found in the motel. Preliminary evidence indicated he took his own life by hanging himself.

The room boy said Jenkins checked into the motel on Friday with a female companion. When Curt observed almost no activity in the room, he and the hotel manager checked on their guests and found Jenkins hanging by a belt inside a closet. He appeared to have been dead for about two days.

The RCMP and Upper Fraser Valley Detachment said they are coordinating with the British Columbia Coroner's Service and working with U.S. authorities on the case.
