On behalf of an unmarried, pregnant teacher, the New York Civil Liberties Union has filed a federal discrimination complaint against a Catholic school. The NYCLU contends the school unlawfully fired the teacher because of her pregnancy situation. "I don't understand how a religion that prides itself on forgiving and on valuing life could terminate me because I'm pregnant and choosing to have this baby," Michelle McCusker said Monday at a news conference announcing the suit.

In a bid to refurbish religious education for youths, Singapore mosques will teach sexuality to Muslim teenagers starting in December. The program will use a book titled "X-rated", written and published by the council. It will be part of a string of workshops about Islam that will be held in 13 mosques, reports Reuters

Caterina Bonci is accusing Catholic Church authorities of firing her because she is too attractive to teach religion after 14 years on the job. The Church, however, says she was removed from the central Adriatic city of Fano because she is divorced. Bonci says that she has never hidden her 2000 divorce from Church authorities, dresses down when teaching and defended her right to dress how she likes in her private life, according to Reuters.
