Two men are charged with burglary after they allegedly break into a McDonald's restaurant and attempt to steal food. Michael Eugene Croley and Christopher Carl Walker, both 18, walked up to the drive-window early Saturday and asked for any unsold food the restaurant planned to throw out.

Police say a suspected methamphetamine dealer was arrested after tossing a bag of trash from his truck, instead of the bag with his stash, during a high-speed chase. Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Angeja says 35-year-old Jason Coates was shaken when he was told by officers he had tossed the wrong bag during last week's pursuit.

A Pennsylvania couple who met at McDonald's four years ago are married at the fast-food joint Monday night. Ken Sinchar rolled through the drive-thru in his white minivan, just as he had done day after day, hoping to chat with Lori Sherbondy.

A Kasas woman files a lawsuit against a Lake Saint Louis Denny's restaurant, claiming workers left cleaning fluid on a toilet seat, causing burns to her buttocks. The complaint says Kathleen Williams of Leavenworth County had to be taken to the hospital after sitting on the toilet in February 2002. While she didn't see the chemical cleaner on the seat, she did feel it burn as soon as she sat down.

Police say a 63-year-old woman was fatally shot as she was waiting for a bus; struck by a stray bullet from a nearby gang-related shooting. The woman, killed Tuesday, is identified Wednesday as Lois Gean Cole. No arrests have been made related to her death, which comes one month after another woman was also killed by stray gunfire.
