A fast food chain in Japan is offering whale burgers, in an attempt to rid itself of overstock from past hunting expeditions. Lucky Pierrot, a restaurant chain in the city of Hakodate, began selling the burgers Thursday for $3. 50.

Pass the Antacid! Iowa Falls can now crown itself home to the world's largest pizza. On Satuday, twenty-six teams converted 4,000 pounds of cheese, 700 pounds of sauce and 9,500 sections of crust into a huge pie in the Iowa Falls -Alden High School parking lot.

A waitress at the To Suk Chung, serving dog stew to a group of patrons, says she does not understand why so many people make such a big deal about eating dog and whale meat, considered traditional meals in South Korea. Pak Suk-kyun does not sympathize with conservationists making pleas to ban the whale meat trade at The International Whaling Conference, just a few blocks from the restaurant, which specializes in dog stew.

Mahatma Gandhi's family is pleading with the Indian government to force an Australian food take-out restaurant called Handi Ghandi -- "Great Curries. . . No Worries" -- to stop using the vegetarian pacifist to sell its food. According to its Web site ( www. handighandi. com ), the company sells a range of meat and vegetarian curries -- including beef, which is sacred to Hindus and forbidden.
