Fifty-Two Percent Of Americans Admit To Re-Gifting

More than 50 percent of Americans have passed on gifts they've received to other people, and 78 percent think "re-gifting" is okay some or most of the time, according to a study released Wednesday. A survey of 1,505 adults conducted by market research firm Harris Interactive showed people are most likely to re-gift decorative household items like vases, paintings, picture frames and other trinkets. Seventy-seven percent of the re-gifters said they did it because they thought the gift was a perfect match for the person they passed it on to. Nine percent said they did it because laziness prevented them from present shopping, and four percent said they re-gifted because they didn't like the recipient.

Brazilian Police Released Two Killers Until Voting Polls Closed

Two confessed killers are on the loose in Brazil so they can have the freedom to vote in a recent election. A man who confessed to raping and stoning to death five women as well as a man who confessed to hiring the hit man who killed his mother were released five days before the country's elections. Police have begun hunting them down but had to wait 48 hours after the polls closed as Brazilian law states.

Etiquette Book Provides Guidelines For The Modern Girl

Debrett's, the publisher of the decades-old high-society etiquette book "Debrett's Correct Form," has come out with a new book on manners for the modern girl. "Etiquette for Girls" catches up with the times, but still insists there is "proper" behavior for young ladies of the 21st-century. There are, for instance, correct and incorrect ways to conduct an office fling, have an affair or gossip about celebrities. Jo Aitchison, the book's editor, tells Reuters, "It's a nod to the modern day. We're pulling Debrett's out of Victorian times and trying to make it relevant to today. "

New York Restaurant Is Chocoholics Dream

A new restaurant in New York is serving chocolate pizza, warm double chocolate fondue, and is offering syringes that squirt liquid chocolate into customers' mouths. Chocolate By The Bald Man, owned by Israeli restaurateur Max Brenner, is a chocoholics dream. Patrons can get hot chocolate in oval-shaped cups called "hug mugs. " They can also get coffee in a cup that has a pouch for chocolate.
