A very large woman trapped a total of 22 tourists in a South African cave on New Year's Day for over 10 hours after she became stuck in between rocks and was unable to get out. The overweight woman, whose name was not revealed, was reportedly warned about the possibility by the staff at the Cango Caves in Western Cape, but she insisted on trying.

To convey his anger at people who wouldn't turn off their bright headlights, a trucker started throwing iron ore at passing motorists over the past three months. According to Geauga County Sheriff deputies, the accused trucker Glenn Rogers Jr. , 40, of Elyria, confessed he was annoyed at westbound drivers who wouldn't dim their high beams as he passed them on state Route 422 about 25 miles southeast of Cleveland.

A South African man who was canoeing off the Nahoon River was badly hurt after he mistakenly grabbed the tail of a dangerous Zambesi shark. According to the Dispatch newspaper, Richarch Tebbut from East London, England was paddling on the river when he saw a fisherman on the bank trying to pull in "a very big fish. "

A young dog owner from Balsall Common, West Midlands in England, has discovered that her pet dog ate everything she threw to him during games of "fetch. "Eight-year-old Olivia Parkinson was surprised when the vets operated on his dog Barney, to find six golf ball-sized rocks, five large twigs and whole crab apples.

A 603-carat diamond was sold for more than $12 million at an auction in Antwerp, Belgium. The South African Diamond Corporation, which owns Graff jewelers, purchased the diamond. It was named the "Lesotho Promise," after the African mountain kingdom where it was discovered.
