he Borders Council is seeking to slap an anti-social behavior order against the owner of a cockerel which crows too early and too loudly. According to the Scotsman, the council is demanding Kenneth Williamson to keep his three year-old rooster, named Charlie, silent between 11pm and 7am. If he fails to do so, he will be declared an Asbo.

A British hen named Freaky has left many confounded after turning into a male rooster. She was born over a year ago as a special breed Silver Laced Wyandotte hen. However, after laying dozens of eggs, Freaky started developing masculine characteristics.

A young girl is in serious condition after having been pecked several times by a rooster near her family's farm in rural Australia. Doctor Claire Helm said the rooster's beak penetrated the 4-year-old girl's airway, causing a life-threatening injury. According to reports, the girl had been pecked three times by the animal. The wound to the throat had disabled the little girl.

Research suggests many animals copulate from time to time, without the delivery of semen, which has baffled scientists, as animal sex is thought to be solely driven by the need to reproduce. New studies, however, suggest males may be engaging in "casual" sex to encourage fidelity. Tommaso Pizzari at the University of Oxford and his team studied feral chickens, known for their promiscuity.
