A cow escaped from a New York City slaughterhouse Wednesday, leading police on a 10-block chase. The cow will not be returned for slaughter.
Molly, the cow's nickname, is believed to be less than a year old, the UPI reported.
She escaped from the Mula Hasa Inc. slaughterhouse about 1 p.m. Wednesday, but her freedom was short lived.
"I was chilling in the yard when a cow came out of nowhere," Adam Kahn, 20, who lives in the home where the fugitive black heifer was finally cornered, told the NY Post.
After being tranquilized, Molly was taken to the Center for Animal Care and Control.
A New York Animal Care and Control call operator told the Huffington Post that Molly has found a new home at a farm.
