Schumacher Takes Over Driving From Cab Driver

Fearing that he would be late for his plane ride back home, Formula One star Michael Schumacher took over the steering wheels from a cab driver and then drove the cab for about 20 miles to the airport. The cab driver whose car was 'taken over' by Schmacher, said he was overwhelmed watching the seven-time Formula One world champion, describing the incident as if he was getting lesson from a driving instructor.

MIT Students Run Supercomputer On Pedal Power

A virtual nuclear fusion reaction has been modeled on a supercomputer running for 20 minutes on bicycle power pedaled by 10 cyclists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The students duly claimed a world record for human-powered computing, saying the task produced more computations in those 20 minutes than all of humanity did in the first 3,000 years of civilization. They also said that more arithmetic calculations were computed than were done on the entire earth up to 1960.

Blair Does Cameo For Bush's Dog Video

Former U. K. Prime Minister Tony Blair can now be seen in his cameo role in an online White House video of U. S. president Bush's dog. The Barney Cam, an annual Christmas movie starring the White House Scottish terrier, gives a dog's-eye view of the White House decorated for Christmas.

No More Letters For 'Any Wounded Soldier'

Hundreds of thousands of holiday greeting cards and get-well-soon letters for injured American soldiers were returned to sender or thrown away unopened and never reached their destinations. The Pentagon and Postal service have refused to deliver mail letters addressed to wounded troops since the September 11 attacks and the anthrax scare, for fear terrorists might send toxic materials or bad messages to the recovering soldier wounded during war.

Priest Impostor Arrested for Running Up Supermarket Tab

A man disguised as a priest was arrested by police for checking out groceries, and then claiming that the bill was to be charged to the St. Rocco's Catholic Church, which actually had a tab at the supermarket. Police officials said that Brian Rush, who claimed that he intended to give help to the poor, scammed the supermarket Gerrity's out of $98 on Tuesday.
