A herd of cows is surely enjoying its food after a marijuana crop is stashed in its regular feed crops.

About 88,000 pounds of marijuana are planted among sunflowers and maize crops where they eat.

Drug enforcement officials say they have no choice but to let the herd feed on the crop, as destroying them will leave the bovine without food.

"I don't know what the milk will be like after this," says a spokeswoman for the Federal Drugs Control Service.

Over the years, Russian police have been fighting an increasing number of drug smugglers, who often ship heroin from Afghanistan.

Large hauls, like the one found in the feed are common, although they are usually burned.
