Three armed robbers reportedly stole $300,000 worth of dog jewelry from a salesman in a Denver-area Starbucks.

The 64-year-old Kansas City resident was in town for a Denver-area dog show and stopped at Starbucks at 9700 S. Parker Road. He had just returned to his car when a trio of masked men suddenly appeared, including one holding a gun, according to Parker police spokeswoman Elise Penington.

Penington said the stolen goods included bejeweled dog collars and other items, but no injuries were reported. The victim, whose name is being withheld, remains in Colorado where he was in town to attend last weekend's Rocky Mountain Cluster Dog Show at the National Western Stock Show complex in Denver.

Investigators are seeking surveillance video from other area merchants that could contain clues. They also hope to speak to the employees at Starbucks, although so far the salesman remains the only witness.

Penington also said the victim probably will return to Kansas later this week.
