Fortunetelling and sorcery have been prohibited in parts of Sarajevo and authorities have been tasked with going after alleged fraudsters.

The municipality of Novo will now fine fortune tellers between $145 and $435. The law also targets people who promote such activities.

While fortunetelling and sorcery have never been a serious problem in Novo, all six Sarajevo municipalities have recently taken steps to enforce similar regulations.

Novo Sarajevo is a product of the city's massive growth and progress in the 1960's and 1970's, located in the middle of the Sarajevo field with the highest population in the city's municipalities.
