A little joke ended a Saudi man in hospital after he jokingly threatened his two wives to marry yet again. Judaie ibn Salem had to get seven stitches on his nose after he was attacked by his two wives for his poor taste in comedy.

Salem however says he did not have any intentions of marrying third time but was only joking with his wives, believing the threat could find a solution to a long argument of dividing up his house.

"I swore that I would do it because ... they were impolite and that's when I came under an even bigger attack," Salem told the newspaper Shams.

However, the husband of two says he would now turn his joke into reality and prove himself right by actually marrying a third woman but also added, "I don't know what I'm going to lose next if I do that."

According to Islamic and Saudi Arabian law, polygamy is not illegal and a Muslim man is allowed to keep up to four wives.
