The hurricane season in Florida scared an 8-year-old child to such an extent that she decided to go back to Ohio where she moved from, on her bicycle.
When the girl Heather Snoke was not found for long found at her home in Deland, Fla., her parents got worried and notified the police in the evening. According to police reports, the girl's father John Snoke drove around the neighborhood looking for his daughter but did not find her.
According to AP reports, DeLand police arrived on the scene and launched a search aided by tracking dogs and a Volusia County sheriff's helicopter. The girl was finally found at 7:46 p.m.
The worried girl admitted to the police that "she is afraid of hurricanes in Florida" and headed back to her hometown in Columbus, Ohio because "that was her home," police reports indicated.
However the police and the girl's parents are happy to have her back and no charges are filed in this case.
