Police are investing a state forensic scientist who conducted a DNA test for her "personal" use related to divorce.
Ann Chamberlain-Gordon, from Okemos, Mich., used state laboratory equipment to perform a DNA test on her husband's underwear to find out if he was having sex with another woman.
Michigan police are trying to find if Gordon violated policies banning the use of state equipment for personal reasons. Gordon testified in her divorce hearing that she ran the test last September on the underwear of Charles Gordon Junior.
According to AP reports, when his attorney asked what the results of the tests were, she said she found the DNA of another woman. However, Gordon also adds that she ran the test on her own time with expired chemicals that were meant to be discarded.
The results of the investigation will be revealed next week. Gordon has not yet been restricted from her job in the forensic lab.
