Police say a 63-year-old woman was fatally shot as she was waiting for a bus; struck by a stray bullet from a nearby gang-related shooting.

The woman, killed Tuesday, is identified Wednesday as Lois Gean Cole. No arrests have been made related to her death, which comes one month after another woman was also killed by stray gunfire.

Daune Lawson, 73, the owner of a carpet store next to where Cole was killed, was eating lunch in her office when she heard gunfire. She walked out and saw Cole lying on the ground, immediately calling 911.

On June 15, Kristine Estrella Tiongson, 20, was shot in the head while waiting in line at a fast food restaurant takeout window with her fiance. Police have say the stray bullet was fired from at least three blocks away.
