An auction of John F. Kennedy memorabilia by a man who was enthralled by the former president is bringing in big bucks. The Omega watch JFK wore at his inauguration sold for $250,000. It was among hundreds of items that belonged to JFK and his wife Jacqueline, reports BBC News.

Police say a 73-year-old man, who received a $5 jaywalking ticket after being struck by a car, later died from his injuries. Charles Atherton, a former secretary of the U. S. Commission on Fine Arts that advises the government on architecture and design in Washington, was hit Thursday while crossing busy Connecticut Avenue.

Former U. S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is all set to make a guest appearance on the WB series "Gilmore Girls. "Albright was secretary of state under President Bill Clinton. She filmed her scene on September 30 with actress Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory Gilmore. The episode is based on the ongoing separation between Rory and her mother, Lorelai Gilmore.

S. troops, but critics are now calling it a PR move, after it is revealed the questions President Bush asked on a teleconference call Thursday were choreographed to coincide with his goals for the war, and Saturday's vote on a new Iraqi constitution. Allison Barber, deputy assistant defense secretary said, coaching the soldiers before Bush arrived, "This is an important time. The president is looking forward to having just a conversation with you. "
