A security camera catches cops in the act of stealing. At least six Richmond police officers are seen pouring cold beverages behind the counter of a closed cookie shop while searching for a gunman at a mall.
According to The Contra Costa Times,
Dozens of officers from Richmond, the California Highway Patrol and The Contra Costa Sheriff's Office searched the mall for hours after a security guard popped in on two masked burglars trying to pry open a jewelry store security gate.
One of the potential robbers fired a handgun, after which the burglars and guard ran in the opposite direction. No one was injured and no suspects or weapons found.
Mary Sansen, a lawyer representing the officers on behalf of the Richmond Police Officers Association, says some of the officers on tape were "dehydrated to the point of desperation."
