Out for a day of spear fishing and lobster diving, Michael Powers and his friends received a surprise visit when a five and a half foot bull shark jumped into his 21 foot boat on Saturday.
The shark leapt out of the water and landed in the fishing boat, proceeding to flop around violently until eventually injuring itself.
"One minute it was in the air, the next minute it was in the boat just beating everything in God's creation," said Michael Powers, according to local news station WSVN.
According to the passengers of the boat, it took about 30 minutes before the shark to settle down and cease breaking up items on the boat.
After the shark finally settled down passengers attempted to lift it out of the boat by roping its tail and using the pole from a fishing net. However, those attempts were unsuccessful as the shark was too heavy, weighing more than 100 pounds, based on the crew's estimates.
Finally, the boat's crew roped the shark from underneath and pulled it up on deck, where they then grabbed it by the fins and shoved it overboard back into the water.
