Plattsburgh, NY (AHN)-A Plattsburgh man is facing felony charges for allegedly striking his mother in the head with a sharp object hooked to a bicycle chain after she made a comment about "American Idol. "According to Plattsburgh City Court records, 24-year-old Cory K. Favreau was discussing the television show "American Idol" with his mother, Jan M. Chagnon, on May 24 at about 10:15 p. m.

An Australian climber left for dead spent a night on Mt. Everest and lived to tell about it. Lincoln Hall, 50 was left by an expedition team after he was reported dead from head trauma, according to reports. But another team found him the next day near the peak with frost bite and altitude sickness.

Admissions fees to some of London's top attractions have gone up to 175 percent in less then a decade, causing concern about soaring costs for tourists. Wax museum Madame Tussaud's is the most expensive draw at 23. 99 pounds per person, an increase of 15. 24 pounds or 174 percent, from the 8. 75 pound admission fee in 1996.

According to authorities, Mexican drug gangs south of the border are using tourist charter buses more and more to smuggle large amounts of marijuana into southern California. "We are seeing a sharp increase in the use of chartered buses to smuggle narcotics from Mexico, although we are not sure why," Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for ICE in San Diego, said on Thursday.
