A man has set-up an internet site to raise money for a single $2 million, 30-second Super Bowl advertising spot to propose marriage to his girlfriend. The man, who goes by the name JP, opted not to use his real name to keep his plans from his girlfriend.

Two farmers who live in neighboring villages in India have decided to use a DNA test to resolve a spat over the ownership of a buffalo. The test will cost 10,000 rupees ($220) - more than twice the value of the disputed buffalo. Each of the farmers, who live in Nellore district in southern Andhra Pradesh state, say the buffalo was sired by one of their flock. The paternity test will settle the argument once and for all.

Local officials in North Wales fear of an impending gold rush after beachcombers found precious ambergris or "whale vomit" along its coastline. The ambergris, also known as grey amber, is considered by many as floating gold because of its high value. Top perfume makers pay as much as $65 a gram for ambergris - a substance also deemed by Chinese to be an aphrodisiac.

Her passion for shotgun shooting is so strong that according to reports, 82-year-old granny, Rita Roherty, won a bronze medal less than a year after she underwent triple bypass surgery. Roherty hit 91 of 100 clay pigeons to take third place in the women's shooting division of the Badger State Games in June. "When a gun fits you, it don't kick," she said to the Janesville Gazette in reference to one of her pet Browning Lightning 12-gauge over-under shotguns.

While some people are fed up of high temperatures, a New Hampshire woman has reaped benefits from it. She baked cookies for her co-workers on the dash board of her Toyota Rav4. With temperatures hitting above 90s on Wednesday, all Sandi Fontaine had to do was to place two trays of cookie dough on the dashboard of her car and shut the doors.
