California Prisoner Swallows $25,000 Diamond To Hide It

A diamond worth $25,000 was found stuck in a shower drain at a California prison. A prisoner there is suspected of stealing the two carat colorless diamond two years ago. Bret Allen Langford, 39, is accused of asking the owner of a jewelry store to show him the diamond in April 2005 and then sped away. Police arrested Langford, but never found the diamond.

A two-carat diamond has been found nearly two years after a man nabbed it from a jewelry store. The catch: the colorless stone which is estimated to be worth $25,000 has been found stuck in the shower drain at the same prison where the man accused of stealing it was serving his sentence. Bret Allen Langford, 39, was arrested in April 2005 for stealing the diamond at a Jewelry Express store. The diamond had never been recovered, until this week, when an investigator representing Langford told jail officials to search the jailhouse drains.

BBC viewers in Scotland have created a storm over a weatherman's alleged description of their town as "nowheresville" during a television broadcast. During two separate weather bulletins, Tomasz Schafenaker said there would be rain in the northwest of Scotland, adding that it would be "mainly in the Western Isles, mainly in nowheresville. " Scottish BBC viewers were not too kind in responding to Schafenaker's description of their hometown. According to Ananova, Western Isles MP Angus MacNeil said he has been overwhelmed with angry complaints following the weatherman's remarks. He said one complainer described Schafernaker's comment as "insulting, ignorant and self-satisfied. "

Shower Sex Prompts E-mail From Professor At Yale

At least one frolicking couple at Yale University has prompted a professor to send out an e-mail reminding students that the showers are for showering. The e-mail was sent out after a couple's romp in the shower caused the bathroom to flood and put it out of order for 90 minutes.

The anti-government sit-ins in Beirut by pro-Hezbollah supporters have resulted in a marketing coup for the designer of a new perfume named "Resistance. " Although the perfume is being marketed to protesters - as a way to smell fresh no matter how long they have been camped out without a shower in Lebanon's capital city - it is also selling briskly in Lebanon's stores as well as in other countries. Ali Aaqil Khalil, who invented Resistance perfume, is not a member of Hezbollah and the perfume is neither endorsed or opposed by the militant group.
