The residents of southeast Queensland were anxious when they mistook a bright, green ball of streaking light from a meteor to be a crashing plane. A police spokeswoman said the suspected meteor was seen traveling east to west in the region from Bribie Island, across the Sunshine and Gold Coasts as far inland as Warwick.

Manila's bus and taxi drivers have been given a friendly reminder to bathe and shower on a daily basis, due to an overwhelming amount of complaints by local commuters who are fed up with the smell at the front of buses, taxis, and trains, saying that the city's 30,000 drivers simply stink. Bayani Fernando, chairperson of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, says, "We understand that drivers must earn money to support themselves and their respective families.

Condominium owner, Ken McCrillis has been sleeping in his car since Hurricane Wilma damaged his home at the Sunrise Lakes condo building. McCrillis, age 77, hangs out on the balcony of his condo during the day and uses the pool's shower and sink with running hot and cold water for hygiene.

Most baby showers end with cake and parting gifts. One in Massachusetts ended in gunfire and a beating. Police say the shower began with an argument over whether a woman let her five-year-old daughter drink beer. When the baby shower's hostess tried to intervene, a man began hitting some of the guests, including the 22-year-old mother-to-be.

The mayor of Toledo is in hot water over an expensive shower he had installed in his office at the expense of the city's taxpayers. The cost of installing the shower was $9,996. 00. The mayor would have needed the city council's approval for a $10,000 expenditure. Staffers say the mayor had the shower installed so he could exercise at work. He's had heart surgery and is trying to stay in shape.
