Thieves went to a Greenwood Church and stole almost nothing except the kitchen sink. According to church authorities, the restaurant-style, stainless steel basin was left outside during renovations to give painters room to work. Rev. Wilbert Simpson of the Calvary Grove Baptist Church told The Index-Journal, "It's sad to think . . . that someone would come on God's grounds to steal something. "

According to a recent poll, most Americans know more about Homer and the Simpson clan than they do about the US Constitution's First Amendment. In a survey, only one in four people could name one of the five amendments, whereas more than half could name at least two family members of the Simpsons.

According to divorce papers, Nick Lachey is seeking spousal support from his former "Newlywed" wife Jessica Simpson, and he wants his jewelry back. Lachey, reportedly also asked for "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects," and part of Simpson's earnings from after the date of separation and other assets.

Officials say the Los Angeles middle school attended by renowned attorney Johnnie Cochran Jr. will be renamed in his honor. The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to rename the Mt. Vernon Middle School after the attorney, who was best known for his representation of O. J. Simpson.

Perrie Simpson, an inmate convicted of the brutal 1984 murder of a retired minister, a day after the Baptist preacher gave him food and money, was executed Friday by lethal injection. The execution came after Governor Mike Easley rejected Simpson's clemency request Thursday evening and after the U. S. Supreme Court rejected his appeal.
