A mother of a 6-month-old son got the surprise of her life last month when her son started walking around their home on her own. Connie Robinson, who hails from the British town of Harlow, said she was shell-shocked to see her son, Reuben cross the milestone of walking at such an early age.
The Sun quotes the surprised 38-year-old mother as saying, "He just got up and started walking round the front room. I couldn't believe it. He's so young. It looks very funny."
Robinson claims her two previous children were also early walkers but is suspecting if Reuben had broken a world record. She even contacted the 'Guinness Book of Records' who said they were not aware of any babies learning to walk at a younger age.
However, the doting mother feels the walking might be a pleasant surprise for the 6-moth-old toddler but it does comes at a price as Reuben has started pulling the phone cord and tries to eat the houseplants.
Most children take their first steps between 11 and 14 months, but the normal range for reaching this milestone is very broad. Some kids walk as early as 8 months, others as late as 17 months.
