Bronx police arrested a woman and her boyfriend on Tuesday for allegedly beating her 4-year-old son to death. Alicia Smith, 26, was arrested on a manslaughter charge for the death of Quachon Brown. Her boyfriend Jose Calderone, 18, faces a second-degree murder charge.

An 85-year-old Florida man is the world's oldest hang-glider pilot. Goss picked up hang gliding at 54, and at 85, he is still flying at least once a month at Wallaby Ranch near Orlando. Earlier this year, he earned a spot in the Guinness World Records. The former dentist taught himself to fly by jumping off beach dunes after reading about the sport in Reader's Digest.

A Massachusetts man is charged with desecrating a Civil War-era tomb by pulling apart the skeleton and posing for pictures with the skull. Neil J. Goodwin Jr. , 19, of Salisbury, was working at the city's Old Hill Burying Ground on Aug. 17 as part of his court-ordered community service for a burglary conviction, when he desecrated the grave, according to The Associated Press.

A mother was charged with two counts of murder in the beating deaths of her two sons. Police say Magdalena Lopez, 30, beat the boys with a 10-pound dumbbell because she believed they would be better off in heaven. Lopez was arrested Tuesday night after police responded to her 911 call and found 9-year-old Antonio Lopez and 2-year-old Erik Lopez dead in separate rooms of their home.
