A half-smoked cigar enjoyed by Britain's war-time prime minister Sir Winston Churchill was sold at an auction for about $670. According to auctioneers Outhwaite and Litherland, Churchill had been puffing on the cigar when he arrived for a meeting in Blackpool, north-west England, on October 14, 1950, when he was leader of the Conservative Party.

Two Bulgarian prisoners that are World Cup soccer fans, have sewn up their lips in protest after not being able to watch the tournament from their prison cells. According to Prison director Vesselin Kotzev, the two men, who are currently spending life sentences in prison, have left a small part of their mouths open in order to be able to smoke cigarettes.

Two lifetime Bulgarian prisoners have stitched their lips and declared a hunger strike demanding cable television and other perks, officials said in Thursday. Prison director Vesselin Kotzev told AFP that he was trying to persuade the prisoner, who has removed his stitches to give an interview, that "stitching his mouth again is not the way to put in his demands, which anyway are unrealistic as they are forbidden by law. "
